Biography

Tim grew up playing guitar; a longhaired indie-kid in the throws of the grunge era. At the age of 18 he blagged a job teaching music at an American summer camp and, while there, decided against a career in the glamorous world of electronic engineering for the drudgery of Rock ‘n’ Roll.

He returned to the UK and after playing with numerous bands he threw his lot in with portabello, which has become one of the most respected independent, Leeds-based guitar bands.

During his tenure with portabello Tim carefully honed his song writing and guitar playing skills. However, a surfeit of his own songs combined with the desire to develop his voice led him to pursue a solo project.

Tim cut his teeth in the Launch Pad at the Roc Bar and Carpe Diem, together with Unplugged Leeds in The Grove.

He has also developed his own project studio; the first results of which are available through this site.

Since June 2004, Tim has been host and resident at the successful "Stripped" acoustic night at Baby Jupiter (every second and fourth Thursday of the month) in Leeds, which continues to grow in reputation.

A year of playing solo and continually producing music at no.65 has led to Tim forming and fronting the new band Fat Charlie, playing genuinely original, soul drenched, heavy groove, indie rock. Their debut gig is at the HiFi club in Leeds on Friday 5th August (see gigs for more information).
